A local masjid located at 413 S. 60th St., is embarking on a new project called the "Madinah Community Center". The more than 30-year-old house of worship serving Muslims throughout the city, hosted a gala at First District Plaza, 3801 Market St., on Saturday. The sold-out, formal affair welcomed 600 of the attendees, urging them to respond to call to raise $100,000 in one night.
